GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION
AND LABORATORY TESTING

GEOTECHNICAL SURVEY

We provide Geotechnical survey services for both onshore and offshore projects.

The purpose of the Geological Survey is to determine the structure of soil layers, the physical and mechanical properties of the layers, underground water level and geological hazards for planning, design and foundation treatment.

The Geotechnical survey for a project usually includes part or all of the following items:

  1. Drilling and sampling soil, rock, and water.

  2. Field testing, including:

  • Standard penetration test (SPT).

  • Field Vane Shear Test (FVST)

  • Piezometer Cone Penetration Test (CPTu)

  • Pressuremeter Test (PMT)

  • Seismic Test.

  • Soil resistivity test.

  • Miniature Vane Shear Test.

  • Pocket Penetrometer.

  • Monitoring sea level at borehole location.

LABORATORY TESTING

Our LAS XD989 laboratory is equipped with the most modern equipment to meet all ASTM testing standards such as:

  1. Particle grain size analysis.

  2. General Physical parameters (Natural moisture, density, wet density, dry density, saturated density, void ratio, porosity, saturation, maximum dry density, minimum dry weight and relative density).

  3. Atterberg limit (GH flow, plasticity).

  4. The angle of repose of sandy soil.

  5. Consolidation compression test (Cv, Ch).

  6. Unconfined compression test (Qu).

  7. Direct shear test (rapid shear and consolidation rapid shear).

  8. Triaxial compression test (UIU, CIU and CID diagram).

  9. Thermal conductivity of the soil.

  10. Soil chemical testing for concrete and steel structures.

  11. Simple water chemical analysis.
